Skanska Koch, Inc. is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join the Engineering Department and be a part of a fast growing international construction company. The qualified candidate will function in a technical role on bridge / building design projects & pursuits.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Develop construction means and methods with emphasis on safety, schedule & cost
Perform structural analysis and design of bridge / building structures
Plan production and coordination with other disciplines
Provide quality reviews for various projects, including checking of calculations and design plans
Resource planning and co-ordination, including collaboration between design and construction teams to enable integrated scheme delivery
Work collaboratively with clients to understand and develop project objectives
Managing, building and developing excellent client relationships
Participate and lead facets of Design Build / PPP pursuits
Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must
Ability to lead a team, delegate, collaborate, and function effectively as part of a team
Complex and diverse problem solving skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Detail-orientated, high level of accuracy with excellent planning and organizational skills
Possesses a Professional Engineering license or eligible to acquire within 1 year.
Must be proficient with Structural Analysis software (SAP2000, RISA 3D, MathCAD, etc.)
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 5 years of heavy infrastructure design & engineering experience
Construction Engineering experience (erection means and methods) is a plus.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (structural emphasis) required
Master of Science in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis) is a plus.
Design-Build experience is a plus
Light travel may be required
